ABOUT LARRY LUECK
I began my history in the Petroleum industry when I was hired by BP Canada in 1974 as a Process Operator at their Oakville Refiney. Worked on Crude, Cat Cracker, Gas Plant, Reformer, DDS Unit and Alky Unit as both an Area Operator, Control Panel Operator and Shift Lead through the transition of the change of ownership to Petro-Canada and up until the closure of the plant. During this period I was on the JOH & S Committee from 1986 until 2006. Because of my extensive history working with the Petro-Canada Safety Department, I was hired by E. S. Fox Constructors as their Safety Advisor during the dismantlement of the Oakville Refinery. From there, I was transferred to an Ontario Power Generator turnaround as their Site Safety Manager. The Oilsands beckened me west to a CSU (commissioning & startup) consulting for Opti Canada Inc. in the commissioning of a new Hydrocracker on their Phase 1 Up-Grader in Fort McMurray, Alberta. After 6 months, I transferred to the Opti Safety Department and completed my contract as an EH & S Site Coordinator. My next venture to western Canada I completed a contract working for Shell Global at their Scotford Upgrader Complex as a CSU Brownfield Operator responsible for the issuing of Safe Work Permitting. After a short stint working as a Site Safety Manager for State Group Inc. in the constuction of a new Water Treatment Plant at the Bruce Nuclear Power station, I was again beckoned to the Oil Sands excepting a new role as a CSU Operator with Suncor at their Firebag Phase 3 site. I am Incorporated working under my company name - Lueck Services Inc. After completing contract in the role of a Safety Professional for Geo. A. Kelson Company on the construction of the new Oakville Hospital and the Toronto Union Station Revitalization project. Worked for six years in the role of a Field Inspector with TransNorthern Pipeline finishing near the end of 2024.
