Larry is a volunteer and co-founder of Mercy Economic Development International Corporation (MEDIC). MEDIC provides economic development project financing, business training, mentorship, and economic micro finance opportunities to the those in need locally and also globally in developing nations. MEDIC operates in twelve different nations, through native partnership affiliates, several who are sustainable with 20 full time staff worldwide. MEDIC has over ten thousand clients, Amazingly MEDIC has all volunteers in its central operations, and has issued well or $3 million in successful micro credit financing. MEDIC has been featured in the Akron Beacon Journal in regards to a joint Project with the Northeast Ohio Rotary District, Barberton Rotary, and Rotary International Foundation. MEDIC is a growing Christian faith based organization whose key platform for delivery of services is Micro Finance linked to Education initiatives, medical services, business training, and Christian outreach and training. MEDIC is working with Mercy Ships International on a pilot project in Togo with Mercy Ships patients in need of micro finance. MEDIC has a unique mission niche in the micro finance field by linking the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Judeo Christian principled training to Economic Opportunities for the poorest of the poor. MEDIC believes these linkages both locally and globally in developing nations are incredibly effective in raising the poorest of the poor out of dire poverty giving them the opportunity to build character and self worth.
