ABOUT LARRY HOLMES

Lawrence “Larry” J. Holmes is a founding partner of Columbia Consulting Group, bringing over 40 years of executive search experience with deep expertise in the industrial/construction and financial services sectors, as well as in board-level searches. He leads a national search practice with a strong focus on C-suite and senior executive recruitment for organizations in construction, infrastructure, general manufacturing, engineering, and materials, as well as investment banking, private equity, asset management, banking, and insurance.Over the past decade, Larry has concentrated on recruiting C-level executives who drive strategic growth and serve as transformational leaders and talent mentors. He is a strong believer that the most effective candidates are often not actively seeking new roles, with a few exceptions.Larry has developed long-standing partnerships with industry-leading clients, often supporting leadership succession across multiple functions. Two notable examples include:• CRH and its subsidiaries: Over the past 25 years, he has completed 109 of 112 executive assignments. Many of these hires rose to become President, COO, or General Manager of subsidiary, divisional, regional, or corporate-level operations. He also placed executives in key staff and functional leadership roles.• NYSE and its subsidiaries: He successfully completed 96 of 101 executive searches, including the recruitment of the President of FINRA, International EVP of Listings, and the General Counsel. He also established the California NYSE office with six strategic hires and filled multiple leadership positions at SIAC, including compliance, operations, and sector leadership roles.Larry has earned consistent national and international recognition for his achievements in executive search. He was named one of the “Top 100 Recruiters in the U.S.” by John Sibbald in The Career Makers (Harper & Row), and one of the Global 200 Executive Recruiters by Nancy Garrison-Jenn, in collaboration with The Economist. In 2009, BusinessWeek named him one of the “100 Most Influential Executive Recruiters in the World.”Notably Larry has served on numerous business, advisory and charitable boards throughout his career. He served on both the Americas and International Boards of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the global professional organization overseeing standards and ethics in the retained executive search industry.
