About Larry Gore
Over the course of my extensive career in the mining industry, I have held a wide range of positions that have provided me with a deep understanding of operations, management, and leadership. I began my career as an equipment operator and, early on, made the decision to move into management. I started as a Production Supervisor in small continuous miner (C/M) operations, and for the past 25 years, my focus has been on large-scale longwall operations.Throughout my career, I have held multiple roles in longwall operations, including Equipment Operator and Longwall Foreman, Superintendent, Mine Manager and currently General Manager. I have also been part of management teams overseeing large operations, union and non-union, with workforces of 800+ employees, including up to 10 continuous miner units and two longwalls. This hands-on experience at all levels of my mining career has allowed me to effectively lead and manage both employees and supervisors by understanding their perspectives.
