ABOUT LARRY BALKIN

I am a Business Process and Continuous Improvement Professional with over fifteen years of experience. I have worked on major customer facing Lean Six Sigma projects including designing and building customized systems, conducting large process and manpower studies, and logistics optimization. My LSS projects to date have brought in a Net Present Value greater than $20 million to my employers.I have served in a variety of roles including Analyst, Engineer I, Engineer II, Lead Engineer, Manager, Consultant, and Director of Industrial Engineering. As a Director, I led the Industrial Engineering and department for Wyndham Destination, an international hospitality company. In this role, I had eight engineers reporting to me and I was focused on all process related improvements within the company. I worked on many of these projects directly in addition to my management responsibilities.Colleagues know me as a very analytical professional who take initiatives and develops great rapport with both internal and external customers. I am also known for soliciting open dialog from the team to encourage opposing viewpoints and thus incorporate the best solution to maximize benefit to the firm. I am best known for ultimately taking ownership and providing well thought out solutions to business problems.I have an MBA from the University of Florida, a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Ga Tech, and I am a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
