About Laura Lara-Brady
Equity-centered higher education leader and researcher with over 20 years of experience with the goal of eradicating the achievement gap and support economic mobility for students and their communities. Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Dr. Lara-Brady brings a profound commitment to creating opportunities through education, aiming for sustainably systemic change.At WestEd\'s Center for Economic Mobility, she leads statewide projects like the scalability of PUENTE program; and at a national scale an NSF-funded initiative to broaden STEM participation among underrepresented groups. She holds a Ph.D. Educational Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

As part of the Center for Economic Mobility at WestEd, Dr. Lara-Brady leads strategy and business development for the postsecondary strand at the Center for Economic Mobility. She currently leads a number of projects within California, Utah, and nationally focused on increasing access to postsecondary degrees as a way to improve minoritized students\' social and economic mobility. Most notably the evaluation and scalability of the Puente Program, implementation of Guided Pathways nationwide, and the development of the VAR Academy.
