ABOUT LARA HENSLEY BROCK
My expertise spans program design, management, qualitative research, and strategic communications. As Associate Director for the East and Southern Africa project management unit, I oversaw 6+ U.S-based project managers and 4+ internationally-based Chiefs of Party across the region. Over my career, I have developed training materials, led capacity-building efforts, coordinated client deliverables, and managed proposals for USAID and other donors.I bring more than 20 years of experience in international health development and domestic public health education. I have led and supported programs focused on maternal health, child survival, infectious diseases (including malaria, measles, and avian influenza), health systems strengthening, air pollution, and social and behavior change. I have worked extensively across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including in Ghana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Vietnam, and Zambia. I understand how the lessons learned globally can be applied here at home in the U.S. particularly for urban and rural Americans.
