About Lani Skipper

I am an Attorney with a varied civil litigation practice in the West Georgia area. I am also the General Counsel for Fairfield Plantation in Carroll County. In addition, I work consistently as a Guardian Ad Litem in Superior Court actions throughout the West Georgia and Metro Atlanta area and have been working on these kinds of cases for the interests of children for twenty years. I originally served as the Paulding County Attorney for Chairman Shearin\'s eight year term. Thereafter, in January, 2015, I accepted that position under Chairman Austin\'s administration. I worked as the County Attorney for Chairman Dave Carmichael until January, 2019. As such, I have experience with government litigation issues, including employment law, eminent domain, ordinance drafting and interpretation and tax appeals. I am a Registered Mediator and Arbitrator with the State of Georgia and am licensed to mediate civil cases, domestic cases and cases dealing with Domestic Violence. I currently work as a mediator in dispute resolution in a multi-County area including Paulding, Cobb, Douglas, Polk, Haralson, Bartow, Carroll, Floyd, Gordon and Chattooga counties. I have mediated hundreds of cases of various types, including all forms of domestic actions, as well as cases concerning personal injury, medical malpractice, business litigation, eminent domain, homeowner\'s litigation, collection suits and local government tax appeals. I have also served as the Associate Juvenile Court Judge for the Paulding Judicial Circuit and as Judge Pro Tem for the same circuit from July, 2002 to January, 2015 and resumed that position again in 2019.
