ABOUT LANG WU

A multidisciplinary scientist with broad biomedical research background in the field of genetic and molecular epidemiology, disease biomarker discovery, disease risk prediction and early detection, and clinical and translational research. • More than 15 years of professional research experience in observational, genetic, and molecular epidemiological studies, and a broader understanding of statistics and bioinformatics theories with tremendous perspective on the study design, data analysis and result interpretation.• Extensive experience on analyzing –omics big data (e.g, genome, epigenome, transcriptome, proteome, metabolome, microbiome, and glycome etc) for chronic disease epidemiologic research using sophisticated statistical methods including machine learning and deep learning. Identified multiple susceptibility genes, variants, DNA methylation, protein, metabolite, microbiome, and glycan biomarkers related to a wide range of diseases including prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and Alzheimer\'s disease etc. Published papers at high impact journals including Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, Cancer Research, and Genome Medicine etc as the senior and/or leading author.• Extensive experience of designing human epidemiologic studies, securing research funding, and developing and growing research group comprising of members ranging from high school students to research scientists.
