ABOUT LANE COMPTON
I am Lane Compton, an experienced Director with a demonstrated record of increased responsibility and accomplishments in running PMO operations and delivery while producing high-performance teams, initiating and driving multiple large-scale enterprise projects and programs to successful completion, and managing implementations through the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). I have led change, fostered collaboration, and facilitated solutions to complex challenging efforts. I am focused on developing simplified frameworks and processes that provide clarity, improve team productivity, and create effective engagement with stakeholders.I have frequently been referred to as a “glue guy” for my ability to build effective teams and bridge the gap between developers and business stakeholders as well as guide effective decision making between competing priorities. I am used to working with diverse delivery teams including both internal and consultant or contract developers as well as managing vendors to deliver solutions. I have been repeatedly asked to recover projects and manage programs where things had gone awry: milestones were missed, budgets were overrun, and requirements were unclear. I have been able to deliver results. I am comfortable working with team members across all levels of the org chart. This means I need to be able to switch gears from highlighting key risks and decision points for executive sponsors to making responsibilities and deliverables clear for the individual contributors responsible for task completion and solution delivery.I love to laugh and make others laugh and seek to employ a self-deprecating brand of humor that diffuses tension and brings a team together. I am not afraid to speak my mind or to stand for the truth. I am a voracious reader because I love to learn new things, an assumption buster because I have an innate urge to question “why”, and a loyal friend because I have been blessed to have many people believe the best of and invest in me and I love to see people thrive.CORE COMPETENCIES: Project & Program Management | Best Practices, Standards, & Processes | Change/Risk/Quality Management | Governance, PMO Operations | Coaching & Guidance | Dashboards, KPIs & Reporting | Financial & Budget Management | Stakeholder/Vendor Management | SDLC / Scrum (Waterfall, Agile)| Performance Management | Cross-functional Team Leadership | Business Process Improvement & Strategic Planning
