I have over 15 years of experience developing and using high-performance imaging systems, with an emphasis on guidance, scientific and astronomical imaging instruments. My expertise includes development of advanced algorithms for image processing and real-time control systems, including interferometry, adaptive optics and spacecraft instrumentation. I have experience in the complete instrument life-cycle, from instrument concepts, requirements, designs, control software, integration, testing and commissioning, through operations, debugging, data acquisition and processing of the results into scientific or technical publications. I helped design, build and operate a multiple-aperture telescope system for extremely high angular resolution (pico-radian) astronomical observations. I have designed and built high-contrast imaging payloads for sounding rocket missions and spacecraft, as well as imaging systems designed for high radiation environments. I hold a Ph.D. in Planetary Science from the California Institute of Technology and have published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in my areas of expertise.
