Data leader at GEICO focused on data enablement through engineering, science and research for Marketing. My background is in building scalable data teams and architecture. I have 12+ years of experience in most big data and analytics tools across on premises, hybrid and cloud. I\'ve succeeded as a Principal Individual Contributor, Tech Lead, Manager and Senior leadership. I gave 2 talks at the 2019 Spark + AI Summit, co-authored a book on Apache Spark, and created Hadoopsters.com. Happily working some form of remote since 2008.

I oversee data engineering, apps and audience operations for GEICO Marketing, directly supporting marketing science, analytics and research. Our teams maintain the marketing data domain and its data products using Snowflake, DBT, DataHub, Iceberg and Trino (Domain Ops). We build and maintain analytical apps in Kubernetes, Streamlit and Posit Connect (App Ops). Finally, we automate the refreshing, packaging and delivering of audiences to our various activation partner platforms, and build customer journey experiences in CRMs (audience Ops). My super powers are- my ability to extract, understand and translate the needs of the business to technical requirements for our analytics teams to implement- evaluating what is required to solve a problem relative to its total value and cost of ownership - aggregating information to make and execute on action plans
