ABOUT DAVID M. LANDHOLM

As a Scientist with a PhD in Environmental Science, I focus on advancing climate change mitigation strategies in the land sector and leveraging Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCM) to channel finance to developing countries. With a decade of experience, I have reviewed, designed, and applied methodologies for estimating the mitigation potential of land use activities, including nature-based solutions (NbS). My research encompasses GHG emissions, deforestation drivers, and carbon accounting, providing a robust foundation for addressing climate challenges across different scales, actors, and geographies.In the VCM space, I have advised on carbon credit quality and investment viability, and conducted extensive quantitative research on the NbS mitigation potential unlocked through carbon markets. My roles have involved collaborating with NGOs, research institutions, governments, and the private sector. Driven by a commitment to sustainable land use and climate finance, I apply my expertise to advance impactful climate change mitigation and meaningful environmental outcomes.
