About Lance Israel Lim
Currently, I am an Adjunct Instructor in Grand Canyon University within the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Previously I have taught at Arizona State University\'s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. My teaching topics include healthcare ethics, culture and health, U.S. and global health systems, and community health. Additionally, I\'m a graduate of the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University with my Masters in Global Management with an emphasis in Global Business. During my Masters, I completed an NSF NRT research traineeship in the field of Smart Cities and Smart Living focusing my research on understanding the effects of Smart Gaming in Healthcare Education, Healthcare Interventions, and Medical Training. I received my Bachelor\'s in Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation with much of my coursework also emphasizing Community Health through the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. I have additionally completed a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership through my time in the Next Generation Service Corps- an undergraduate leadership development program. I have experience working in NGOs, the public sector, and the private sector within the healthcare and Diversity Equity and Inclusion fields. Furthermore, I have over 6 years of medical and scientific research ranging from health education, sleep hygiene, neuroscience, and health technology.Outside of my educational background, I have vast experience in event planning, public speaking, design sprints, diversity and equity initiatives, educational media creation, advocacy, and business/product consulting through my various job experiences and extracurriculars. Some notable experiences that have helped me grow professionally are my experience helping students cultivate their product/company pitches in local pitch competitions, consulting projects throughout my time in graduate school, and my various student positions that allow me to advocate and represent the LGBTQ+ and Asian communities. I am a passionate young professional who is ready to make an impact anywhere I go and is ready to make a difference in any industry I am in. Some special interests I have include health policy and equity, medical sociology, foreign languages, sciences, cultural competency, behavioral and mental health, and cultures around the world, especially when applied to healthcare practices.
