About Lamar Campbell

After a six-year NFL career with the Detroit Lions, I transitioned into an executive leadership path that blends strategic development, talent evaluation, and organizational culture building. My journey spans collegiate athletics, NFL front offices, and player engagement, with a consistent focus on enhancing performance, well-being, and long-term success for athletes and executives alike.Currently, I serve as the Director of Personnel Development and Area Scout for the Seattle Seahawks, where I lead initiatives that integrate scouting with holistic player development. My work emphasizes onboarding, retention, and collaboration with key stakeholders in personnel, coaching, strength and conditioning, nutrition, medical, and mental health to optimize performance and character growth. I also manage operational logistics across scouting workflows, ensuring seamless coordination and communication that supports efficient talent evaluation and organizational readiness.Previously, I was Vice President of Engagement for the Chicago Bears (2017–2021), where I spearheaded initiatives in brand stewardship, career transition, and community impact. I played a pivotal role in organizational strategy, including serving on the five-person search committee to select the team’s General Manager and Head Coach. I also contributed to league-wide development programs as a member of the NFL Player Engagement steering committee. From 2012 to 2017, I served as Assistant AD of Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, my alma mater, where I played collegiate football. I led campus-wide efforts focused on student-athlete wellness, executive development, career transition, personal growth, and inclusive excellence.I’m a PhD candidate and hold a BA in History and a Master’s in Leadership and Policy Analysis from Wisconsin’s ELPA program. Originally from Chester, PA, I remain a passionate advocate for leadership, education, athlete transition, and the intersection of sports and society.\"Always have the perfect state of mind for success.\"
