ABOUT LALAH-SIMONE SPRINGER
Lalah-Simone Springer (she/they) is a multimedia marketing consultant and writer with a passion for inclusive, accessible communications. Their first poetry collection, An Aviary of Common Birds, was released in August 2023 by Broken Sleep Books. Lalah previously worked at NHS Digital in a senior social and digital role and was recently marketing and campaigns executive at the London College of Fashion. A former healthcare and technology journalist, Lalah has worked on BBC’s Click, podcasts for The Guardian, and specialist health titles such as Pulse magazine. Lalah is also an award-winning writer – their first poetry collection was shortlisted for the Penguin #Merky Books New Writers Prize in 2021, and they regularly perform across the UK. They were one of the first cohort in Rewrite Academy, a developmental programme designed to support Black Women and Women of Colour writers who are keen to finish their works-in-progress. Their creative works have been published in SHE magazine, Ink, Sweat & Tears, Onyx Magazine and on the ANTHEMS podcast. Previous collaborations as a performance artist have been staged at The Barbican and Almanac Project Space.
