About Lakshmanan Nataraj

I obtained my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a focus in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Cyber Security. After graduation, I was as a Senior Research Staff Member at Mayachitra Inc. on cutting edge R&D projects for US Defense agencies. Currently, I am employed as a Principal R&D Engineer at Trimble Inc, where I advise/manage/oversee different projects on Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. I have several years of experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Signal Processing and Cyber Security, and co-authored more than 20 publications cited more than 1600 times. I also serve as reviewer for top conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, and top journals. My thesis combined interdisciplinary fields of Signal Processing and Cyber Security to detect malware and had tremendous impact resulting in new research directions, with my paper,\"Malware Images: visualization and automatic classification\" obtaining more than 600 citations. I had also done research on Media Forensics and Steganography and had the honor to do internships at Walt Disney Animation Studios and SRI International.
