As a founding member of the team, designed and built several building blocks (Flink jobs, ETLs, services, semantic layer, querying, and data processing capabilities) of the in-house Analytics Platform from scratch- Scaled the platform to handle multiple datasets with Billions of data points with low latency to unlock real-time analytics capabilities for external and internal customers to make data-driven decisions- Lead Analytics Query Platform sub-team with a group of 4 engineers. Responsible for the roadmap, project planning/execution, and hiring- Made several open-source contributions to Apache Pinot (our real-time analytics datastore): Introduced HLL++ for better accuracy, lookup Join enhancements, and enabled rolling window support for DistinctCount and Percentile use cases- Evaluated time series DB choices and proposed extending the existing OLAP database to support time series interpolation capabilities within Pinot. Working with the Pinot open-source community on designing and implementing this feature [Blog post: https://startree.ai/blog/gapfill-function-for-time-series-datasets-in-pinot]. Invited as a guest speaker at Real-time Analytics Submit - 2023, to present on “Interpolating time series data on-demand” (https://2023.rtasummit.com/session/interpolating-time-series-data-on-demand/)-[In Progress] Co-authoring a technical book for Manning publications on “Pinot In Action,” Oct 2024.
