ABOUT LAILA CARTER

My name is Laila Carter, and I am currently an undergraduate junior at the University of Georgia. With a passion for a storytelling, I am double majoring in Journalism and Political Science and minoring in Music (Voice). I hope to combine my love for performing and writing to pursue careers as a Broadway actress and an entertainment lawyer that intends to work in agency work.I am originally from Watkinsville, Georgia and attended North Oconee High School before completing my senior year at Miss Porter\'s School in Farmington, Connecticut. Over the course of my high school career, I have been a member of over 15 clubs and organizations, the most notable being Class President and Student Council Vice President. Community service has always been something paramount to me. I have volunteered with numerous organizations, such as Global Works, the North Oconee Beta Club, North Oconee Leo Club, National Honors Society, and Athens Church. I am a dedicated vocalist, having trained in the performing arts since the age of four. I have received training at the University of Georgia, New York University, Broadway Dreams, Broadway Evolved, and Oconee Youth Playhouse. My most recent roles have been Ariel in \"The Little Mermaid\", Morticia in \"The Addams Family\", and The Baker in \"Into The Woods\".I consider myself to be an active academic student with a love for writing. Emphasizing a platform of versatility and curiosity, I hope to pursue a career that encapsulates my multifaceted skillset.
