ABOUT LAETITIA SATAM
My passion for mental health advocacy and humanitarian work began when I was just 12 years old, when I first began volunteering with Kids Help Phone, the largest provider of e-mental health services in Canada. Today I sit on Kids Help Phone\'s Board of Directors, Campaign Cabinet for our $300 million Feel Out Loud Campaign (the largest mental health movement in Canadian History), and Co-Chair Kids Help Phone’s National Youth Council. I have been awarded the King Charles Coronation medal for my work advancing youth mental health. Building on these interests of health and wellness, I am currently pursuing a BSc in Nutrition and Food Sciences with a minor in Global Health and a certificate in International Learning on Treaty 6, First Nations, and Métis homelands, at the University of Alberta. I am driven by using my experiences to create equity, dismantle access barriers, and advocate for all youth, but especially those from marginalized populations and remote communities. I look forward to continuing to advocate for stigmatized topics. Open to talk about anything mental health, global health, or wellness related!
