ABOUT LAETITIA GILL

I am a philanthropy leader and strategist with 25+ years of international experience in research, program design, and inclusive leadership. Based in Montreal and active in Canada and Europe, I co-direct the MAS in Philanthropy at the University of Geneva and sit on the national board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada. My work strengthens the philanthropic sector through strong governance, continuous learning, and innovation. Committed to building trust and cross-sector partnerships, I promote forward-looking approaches to philanthropy.Previously, I was the first Executive Director of the University of Geneva’s Centre for Philanthropy, where I contributed to its creation and development into a leading interdisciplinary academic hub. I also co-created—with Fondation de France—the first European Academy of Strategic Philanthropy.I initiated the open access volume \"Philanthropy: Multidisciplinary Perspectives\"(Routledge, 2025), published under the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy (GCP).A strong advocate for diversity as a driver of legitimacy and effectiveness, I authored the first Swiss report on diversity in foundation boards and speak regularly at international conferences.Je suis leader et stratège en philanthropie, avec plus de 25 ans d’expérience internationale en recherche, conception de programmes et leadership. Basée à Montréal et active au Canada comme en Europe, je co-dirige le MAS en philanthropie de l’Université de Genève et siège au conseil national de Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada. Mon travail renforce le secteur philanthropique par une gouvernance rigoureuse, un apprentissage continu et l’innovation. Engagée pour un dialogue de confiance et des partenariats intersectoriels, je promeus des approches tournées vers l’avenir.J’ai été la première directrice du Centre en philanthropie de l’Université de Genève, où j’ai contribué à sa création et à son développement en un pôle académique interdisciplinaire de référence. J’y ai également co-créé, avec la Fondation de France, la première Académie européenne de philanthropie stratégique.J’ai initié l’ouvrage en libre accès Philanthropy: Multidisciplinary Perspectives (Routledge, 2025), publié sous l’égide du Centre en philanthropie de Genève (GCP).Engagée pour la diversité, levier d’efficacité et de légitimité, j’ai rédigé le premier rapport suisse sur la diversité dans les conseils de fondation et j’interviens régulièrement dans des conférences internationales.
