WORK HISTORY
Occupational Therapist @Mary Washington Healthcare
Working in a hand based outpatient setting, my role focuses on helping patients recover from hand injuries, conditions, and surgeries, with an emphasis on restoring function, improving mobility, and enhancing quality of life. I assess patients\' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving their ability to perform daily activities. This includes addressing challenges with fine motor skills, strength, coordination, and adaptive techniques.I provide interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, splinting, wound care, and patient education to promote healing and prevent further injury. This involves evaluating the impact of hand conditions on patients’ work, home, and recreational activities, while focusing on maximizing independence and functional performance.I regularly track patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and offer ongoing support to help patients meet their rehabilitation goals. Additionally, with my expertise in hand therapy as I aim to work to become a Certified Hand Therapist, I am able to provide a holistic approach that ensures each patient receives the care and attention necessary to achieve their best functional outcomes.
