   As Director of Communications and Marketing, I lead the city’s external communications, media relations, marketing, and public engagement strategies. Reporting to the City Manager’s Office, I manage a team of four professionals and oversee all aspects of the city\'s Communications and Marketing Department, with a focus on helping city council and departments effectively communicate with the public.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the City of Bryan’s primary Public Information Officer, handling media relations, crisis communications, and public messaging, while supporting the PIOs for police, fire, and BTU as needed.Develop and manage strategic communications plans, marketing campaigns, and public outreach efforts in partnership with city departments to enhance public understanding and trust.Direct the city’s communications platforms, including social media, websites, graphic design, branding, videography, photography, council broadcast operations, and government-access Channel 16.Write and edit public-facing content such as advisories, press releases, newsletters, scripts, and promotional materials in accordance with AP Style.Promote positive storytelling about city services, initiatives, and events to elevate Bryan’s image and visibility.Supervise department staff through hiring, evaluations, training, and team meetings, ensuring effective collaboration and quality work products.Oversee departmental goals, priorities, and budget, with an emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and high-quality customer service.
