About Lacey Hunter
I\'m a graduate student at NYU studying Music Business, and a coordinator at WMG working in video operations. I\'ve really enjoyed being able to take courses in each sector of the music industry to more deeply understand how each piece operates independently and in collaboration with the rest of the industry. While in my program, I\'ve worked on teams in digital distribution and independent management, primarily in operations and strategy intern positions. I make documentary films, so I\'ve always had a really strong passion for the pairing of music and film. I aim to work in audiovisual spaces within the industry. I\'m also very interested in the breakdown of recording and publishing copyrights, and how each is monetized in relation to the history of industry regulation and technological development. And specifically, how audiovisual work and the increasing use of it on platforms provides more opportunity for freely-negotiated income for songwriters, artists, and the industry at large.
