To date, have led the Mission System development effort through Mission Concept Review (MCR; Sept 2014), System Requirements/Mission Definition Reviews (SRR/MDR; Jan 2017), Mission System Preliminary Design Review (June 2018), and Mission System Critical Design Review (Sept-Oct 2020). Responsible for the planning and safe, efficient operation of these feedback/control loops:* Flight Path Planning, Knowledge, and Control (Mission Design/Navigation)* Spacecraft and Instrument State Planning, Knowledge, and Control (Mission Operations System) These loops have strong connections to Science, Payload, and Flight Systems and dependencies upon each other:* Observability, Commandability * Resource Needs and Management * Desired Flight System Behaviors The following functions support these loops in a cross-cutting fashion:* Mission Planning - ensures strong understanding of nominal activities, required resources and sensitivities, and contingency options between these loops and with their stakeholders, factoring in these connections and dependencies.* Ground Data System - ensures a robust, pragmatic approach that helps stakeholders securely take advantage of available facility and information technologies.
