Global Affairs | Tech Policy | AI Governance | International Relations As a Senior Researcher and Advisor at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco, I sit at the crossroads of diplomacy, public policy, and emerging technology. With 15+ years of experience in international affairs, I specialize in delivering actionable insights that connect the dots between geopolitics, innovation, and global strategy. I’ve authored and submitted over 500 diplomatic briefing notes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering deep policy analysis on topics including economic security, international trade, national defense, military alliances, statecraft, and economic cooperation. These briefings support Korea’s foreign policy and engagement strategies, particularly with the United States. On the tech side, I’ve served as the lead author of the Silicon Valley Tech & Policy Report (published by the Ministry since 2020), analyzing emerging trends such as autonomous mobility, the metaverse, and AI governance. I’ve hosted major events on AI policy, including one featuring Jaeho Yeom, Vice Chair of Korea’s National AI Committee, and maintain close monitoring of AI’s impact across industries, startups, and global regulatory landscapes. My professional journey is grounded in a commitment to continuous learning. As a working professional, I actively pursue opportunities to deepen my knowledge and adapt to a rapidly changing global landscape. I recently completed the Certificate in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics (2025) to strengthen my analytical and evidence-based policymaking skills. Earlier in my career, I enhanced my diplomatic capabilities through the Bilateral & Multilateral Negotiation for Diplomats program by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea (2017) and the Public Diplomacy Course hosted by the United Nations (2013). These experiences have equipped me with the tools to operate effectively in complex, high-stakes international environments and to bridge public policy with real-world impact. I’ve also had the honor of serving as the Honorary Chair of the Young Diplomats Club, and was selected as a country representative for the 2023 Hoover Institution International Seminar, hosted by former U.S. National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster. With a career built on trust, strategy, and global perspective, I’ve collaborated with individuals from over 100 nationalities and consistently operated in high-stakes, multicultural environments.
