Manage the Audit Services team responsible for audit strategy, practices and operations supporting the Chief Audit Executive (CAE). Lead overall department strategy inclusive of: audit methodology, audit management tool, Quality Assurance and Improvement program, talent strategy and data analytics. Transformed the audit process for 30+ auditors resulting in adoption of a risk-focused annual audit plan and consistent application of a best-in-class audit framework meeting Institute of Internal Auditor standards, ensuring independence and objectivity of the department-Develop annual audit plan and communicate quarterly audit results and progress against plan to the Audit Committee. Serve as secretary of Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee, responsible for development of Audit Committee (AC) agenda and collection of AC papers for submission to Corporate Secretary-Responsible for quality over approximately 40 audits annually. Designed, implemented and led the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program to effectively evaluate all audit processes against IIA standards and EAS methodology. Elevated department to new Global IIA Standards through updates to processes-Initiated the GRC Alignment program with support from senior executives. Guided working group to bring risk oversight processes in line with industry expectations and best practices by adopting a common risk framework to drive consistency in risk identification and prioritization. While looking for synergies across the various GRC tools currently in use in Equitable, identified unused functionality in wDesk equaling $250k in savings-Identified opportunity for process efficiencies and long-term cost savings by consolidating Audit, Risk Management and SOX processes into a single Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) tool; led cross-collaborative working group in selecting AuditBoard to achieve savings of $105k over 3-year period (17% reduction).
