About Kyra Dunmore
Hi, my name is Kyra! I am a 4th-year undergraduate at the University of Illinois Chicago majoring in Kinesiology in the Pre-Physical Therapy Tract with a minor in Black Studies. I am a Research Assistant at the Exercise Neuroscience Research Lab at UIC where I contribute to research in the REAL MS Study (Race, Ethnicity, and Active Lifestyles for People With and Without Multiple Sclerosis). This cross-sectional study examines health-related outcomes among adults with MS, focusing on the impact of race and ethnicity on health behaviors. Through this research, we aim to inform the development of programs that promote equitable health outcomes for all individuals living with MS.In addition to my research role, I serve as a Peer Coach for UIC’s Academic and Support Achievement Program (ASAP), where I help students develop essential time management skills for success inside and outside the classroom. By providing personalized strategies and support, I strive to empower students to confidently navigate their academic journeys.
