About Kylie Cannon
My first job was an unorthodox one. I hopped into a trailer alongside a few dozen goats and a llama named Chewbacca, and I set off to tour the country with a traveling petting zoo. While my days on the Zoo Crew are long behind me, the hard work, humility, and good humor I learned remain.I’ve worn many hats throughout my career: project manager, recruitment guru, infrastructure expert, teacher, novice data analyst, and family advisor, to name a few. What remains constant is my focus on community investment. I speak in human terms, not technical jargon and acronyms. I work across disciplines. I ask the lowest person on the totem pole for their opinion on how to fix a problem. I firmly believe a PowerPoint slide should have no more than twenty words on it. I am, in other words, not your average public servant.Specialties: community outreach, stakeholder engagement, program and project management, human-centered design, working with diverse populations.
