WORK HISTORY
Human Resources Administrator @Nebraska State Historical Society
Lincoln, NE, US
At History Nebraska, Human Resources is seen as a strategic function that supports the agency\'s mission and strategic goals, and therefore is a member of the leadership team and participant in all strategic planning sessions. I administer all aspects of Human Resources department, including recruiting, onboarding, training and development, performance management, payroll and benefits. One of the first tasks I set out to do was to create a hiring process to be followed by hiring managers, with a focus on hiring for the organization\'s core values and alignment with the strategic plan. In 2019, we implemented Traction as an organizational model, also known at the Entrepreneurial Operation System (EOS) in an effort to improve accountability and communication. This required frequent communications utilizing change management techniques. Implementation included a quarterly review system, a major departure from the traditional annual review. In 2020, I coordinated the creation of a diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) committee, a strategic priority for the organization. I continue to chair the committee and lead biweekly meetings. I\'ve developed two DEAI strategic plans, hired a consultant to provide coaching to leadership team members and board officers, coordinated agency-wide training to staff, incorporated DEAI principles into the hiring and onboarding process, and participated in community outreach events.

ABOUT KYLIE HATTEN
Thanks for visiting my profile! I’m truly passionate about my work as an HR Administrator for a small cultural organization. I enjoy serving on the leadership team, contributing to the mission and strategy, as well as providing excellent service to our dedicated staff. I love working for a values-based organization. Our values aren\'t just words posted on a bulletin board in the break room. We hire for our values. We give frequent performance feedback based on our values. Our values help us make sound decisions and let everyone know what the expectations are. I\'m curious what your company\'s values are, and how leaders and staff subscribe to them. I\'m particularly interested in nonprofits and organization\'s with a strong mission and core values, organizations that use EOS or Traction, and organizations that support part-time professional work. I’m always interested in hearing from former colleagues, HR professionals, and business leadership, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect. Some personal interests of mine include wellness, food and culture, yoga, performing arts, and continuous personal development.
