ABOUT KYLE SERKIES
I joined Advantage Forensics Inc. in 2015, after attending the University of Toronto and completing my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Engineering, respectively. Since then, I have conducted hundreds of forensic investigations and have become a Vice President with the company and a Senior Forensic Engineer, where I assist legal and insurance industry clients in understanding their complex personal injury, subrogation, and criminal cases. I am currently a senior member of multiple practice teams at Advantage Forensics Inc. I am on the Materials and Product Failure teams, specializing in fracture analysis. I am on the Collision Reconstruction team, specializing in motorcycle collisions. Finally, I am on the Fire Investigation team, specializing in vehicle and product fires. I continue to seek out new training and teaching opportunities to maintain up-to-date knowledge in all my practice areas and to share my knowledge with others. On the Materials and Product Failure teams, I have published peer-reviewed scientific research and been an invited university guest lecturer on material failure. On the Collision Reconstruction team, my participation in full-scale motorcycle crash testing, my tenure as a motorcycle riding instructor, and my extensive personal motorcycle riding experience has given me a unique insight into motorcycle-specific operation and dynamics. This unique insight allows me to correctly differentiate the nuances between motorcycle collisions and passenger vehicle collisions which are often overlooked by law enforcement and other engineering investigators. On the Fire Investigation team, I am currently pursuing my full Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) designations. If you have any questions, or would like a full copy of my CV, please feel free to reach out by phone (41••••••00) or email (k•••••••@aforensics.ca).
