About Kyle Poklar

As a lifelong Milwaukee County resident, outside of those four years at UW-Madison, I enjoy improving the built environment in our city. Getting to work on exciting and award-winning projects such as Komatsu’s South Harbor Campus, Marquette University’s College of Business Administration and Commons Residence Hall, MSOE’s Viets Tower Residence Hall, and Sculpture Milwaukee’s annual exhibitions have been extremely rewarding. I look forward to continuing to shape Milwaukee’s downtown, with the Iron District up next.As an engineer, I focus on delivering efficient, cost-effective structural solutions, solving problems, and providing great service to my clients to build relationships. Reducing the carbon footprint of my projects through thoughtful structural system selection and efficient design is a passion of mine. I continue to focus on lifelong learning through the regular attendance of conferences and seminars, such as those hosted by PTI and NCSEA. I look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of what we can achieve with structure.As a leader, I prioritize the development of my staff through regular one-on-one meetings, opportunities for continued learning, setting expectations, and providing meaningful feedback on performance. I bring a fresh perspective on what leadership looks like at GRAEF and continue to expand my knowledge through attending leadership training courses and seminars, such as a Living as a Leader and Forward 48. I look forward to pursuing an MBA, taking on increased leadership responsibilities at GRAEF, and sitting on the board of a non-profit.As a person, I love to get outside through hiking, golfing, and exploring Wisconsin’s State Parks. While I’ve lived in Milwaukee my entire life, I’ve been fortunate to travel all over the country and to nearly a dozen countries around the world so far. I look forward to continuing to explore.
