ABOUT KYLE MCAULIFFE
I\'ve been passionate about technology since childhood. My parents had to lock the computer room when we got dial-up internet because I couldn\'t get enough of it (it took me two weeks researching how to pick the locks online before I finally got it; they didn\'t bother locking the room after that). That early fascination evolved into a 15+ year career where I\'ve worn many hats across cloud architecture, DevOps, software engineering, and cybersecurity.I’m driven by the idea of building systems and teams that deliver real value. I\'m particularly drawn to complex challenges, most recently in the automotive technology space, where I\'ve helped transform how pre-production vehicles are validated and data is processed at scale. I\'m a problem-solver at heart who thrives when breaking down silos and empowering engineers to do their best work. Chief Engineer, Aptiv (December 2022 - Present) Sr. Manager-DevOps, Operations, IT, Aptiv (October 2020 - December 2022) Interim Cybersecurity Manager, Aptiv (September 2021 - April 2022) Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Lead, Aptiv (April 2019 - October 2020) Sr. Cloud Systems Analyst, CONTROLTEC (Acquired by Aptiv)(May 2017 - April 2019) Sr. System Administrator, CONTROLTEC (September 2013 - May 2017) System Administrator, CONTROLTEC (April 2011 - September 2013) Infrastructure Support Engineer, Fusion Systems Japan (January 2009 - March 2011) Engineering management & leadership Team building and scaling Cloud architecture (AWS) DevOps Cost optimization Cybersecurity governance IoT/automotive tech Infrastructure modernization Agile I believe the best engineering leaders listen to the people closest to the products. Throughout my career, I\'ve found success by breaking down silos, empowering individual contributors, and keeping people as the last resource to cut during optimization efforts. I run lean operations but put teams first. My technical background in cloud and software development lets me speak both languages, translating business needs to engineering teams and technical constraints to executives. At the end of the day, I\'m the person leaders call when they need someone who can optimize costs, drive innovation, and keep talented engineers engaged.
