Over the past two decades of working in housing & tech, pioneering what has become mainstream today - a digital first lending platform leveraging data - and being involved in close to $1 Trillion in lending/housing activity, I continuously saw the same thing happen time and time again (including myself): If I only kept that home I sold 5,10,15 years ago - I would have so much more money! Most people who own a home today and want to move to a new home have really only one option: SELL the current home. The problem is; Selling a home (the most predictable and consistent wealth generator in human history) and missing out on the hundreds of thousands of future dollars the home will be worth over the long term, does not help in building long term wealth. Me, along with millions of homeowners who want to build long term wealth for our families are missing out…. big time. When you look at the people who have “wealth” or “net worth”, owning multiple appreciating assets (homes) is predominately their main driver to achieving long term generational wealth. Selling your home in order to get a new one is what we’ve been culturally and systematically trained to do. But there has to be a way to be able to get all the benefits of “selling” and move on with your life, while still reaping the benefits of an asset that will undoubtedly be worth more in the future. Well now there is. I’m excited to share that I’ve started a new company, Bonus. Together with my other co-founders and our incredible team, we are on a mission to put more wealth & financial security into the hands of homeowners by redefining what it means to sell a home. Bonus lets homeowners sell their current equity, move out AND keep a percentage of ownership to continue building wealth from the home’s future appreciation. Our hope is that you never have to sell your home without missing out on its future worth again.
