About Kyle Betit

Kyle Betit is a genealogist, ancestral travel expert, project manager, teacher and mentor. Kyle has 7 years of experience leading Ancestry\'s heritage travel program. He has personally led many people to visit their ancestral homes through privately guided visits, group tours, and cruises. He also manages a large team of talented genealogists and guides who provide ancestral visits in many countries. Kyle has worked with hundreds of genealogy clients over his career, including celebrities, executives, and community leaders. Kyle\'s areas of genealogy research specialization include Ireland, Eastern Europe, French-speaking countries, Canada, Greece, Catholic and other religious records, immigration, and genetic genealogy.With two colleagues, he started the company ProGenealogists, which became the premier genealogical research company in the United States and was acquired by Ancestry in 2010. Kyle hired the first team of AncestryProGenealogists researchers in the Dublin and London offices in 2015, leading to a group of more than a dozen professionals working today in Ireland, Scotland and England. He presents at conferences in the USA, Canada and Europe. He was co-editor of The Irish At Home and Abroad journal and is the author of A Genealogist\'s Guide to Discovering Your Irish Ancestors. He was an instructor for the American Records Course, National Institute of Genealogical Studies.Kyle is interested in history, religion, liturgy, spirituality, interfaith studies, languages, and LGBTQ+ issues. He is a liturgical master of ceremonies. He served in outreach to the poor and homeless, and in peace and justice efforts.
