Kyle Bethancourt is a Founding and Managing Partner at Houston-based private equity firm Sallyport, where he leads investments in high-growth companies across various industries. Previously, he founded and led Sallyport Investments, a single-family office, where he delivered top-decile returns over his decade-long tenure as Managing Director. During that time, Mr. Bethancourt established himself as a serial entrepreneur, successfully founding and scaling six companies from the ground up.Mr. Bethancourt’s extensive experience as an investor also includes notable roles at the Blackstone Group where he worked for their credit division, GSO Capital Partners, and at D.E. Shaw & Co, a hedge fund where he invested in renewable and traditional power projects. Early in his career, Mr. Bethancourt worked at the El Paso Corporation and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Bethancourt is Chairman of the Board for the For All Mankind Movement and serves on the board of directors for several portfolio companies, including EnGoPlanet Energy Solutions, LLC, Validere Technologies Ltd, and VRGL, Inc. Mr. Bethancourt holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is often sought after as a public speaker on investing, having previously guest-lectured at Texas A&M and The Wharton School. He lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and family.
