I currently cover Congress for NBC News. As a producer, I do a bit of everything: asking questions of lawmakers, producing /scripting stories, filming interviews and handling logistics of NBC\'s coverage of the House of Representatives. As someone who loves learning about history, I’ve had a front row seat covering major political moments from elections to presidential impeachments to the pandemic response. Nothing happens in a vacuum, which is why I seek to add historical context to my reporting as I did covering protests surrounding Confederate statues or more recently with the lengthy Speaker of the House election. I have a strong background in shooting and editing video. Along the way I taught myself how to produce and edit podcasts as well.I was part of the NBC News team that won the 2022 News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Breaking News Coverage for our reporting on the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
