About Kyle S.

I build data products at the intersection of Finance, Data Engineering, and Product - and I\'m at my best when the problem is ambiguous and the stakeholders are many. For the past 5+ years at Salesforce, I\'ve owned the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise data platforms: from requirements and stakeholder alignment through UAT, deployment, and ongoing operations. The datasets I manage feed into how the company reports on its ~$40B revenue base, and I take that responsibility seriously.Here\'s what I believe: in a world where AI can write the SQL and build the dashboard, the most valuable skill is knowing what to build and getting people aligned to build it together. I use AI to accelerate analysis, automate workflows, and free up bandwidth - then invest that time back into the work no tool can do: understanding what stakeholders actually need (not just what they asked for), and having the courage to deliver hard messages in a way that keeps trust intact. That combination - technical fluency amplified by genuine human connection - is what I\'ve built my career on. My manager has described me as someone he \"can count on to ask the questions to get to what is best for the company.\" I don\'t take that for granted. Those relationships are what make it possible to land a zero-defect ERP migration, get buy-in on decommissioning a platform people love, or ship a new enterprise metric across five teams who\'ve never worked together.A few things I\'m proud of: → Orchestrated a zero-defect data cutover during a major ERP migration — no downstream reporting disruption → Led the strategic decommission of a legacy platform (~$700K annual contract), navigating sensitive stakeholder dynamics while separately saving ~$125K/year by internalizing vendor support → Led the analytics workstream for a new enterprise financial metric — recognized as a program \"All-Star\" by cross-functional peers → Grew from Business Analyst through two promotions to Manager, navigating a company acquisition and a Finance transformation along the way.I\'m energized by high-growth environments where building trust across functions is just as important as building data pipelines. If you\'re building something where both matter — I\'d love to connect.Outside of work, I\'m a Seattle-based dad figuring out the balance between enterprise programs and toddler programs. Always happy to talk about data, organizational psychology, or Seattle sports teams.

Promoted to serve as the direct owner and steward of critical Revenue and Bookings data products within the Finance Data Office, a team that sits at the intersection of Finance, IT, and Data Engineering. I\'m responsible for their accuracy, reliability, and ongoing enhancement — and I\'m also the person the team puts on the most complex workstreams of enterprise programs, where cross-functional alignment is hard and the stakes are high. The work I\'m most proud of in this role isn\'t just the technical delivery — it\'s the trust I\'ve built that makes the delivery possible. Leading a platform decommission, for example, is 30% technical planning and 70% stakeholder navigation. Getting that right requires understanding what people are actually worried about and addressing it directly.Key focus areas: → Leading the analytics workstream for a new company-wide financial metric (Net New AOV), from requirements gathering through cross-functional UAT and deployment — earning recognition as a program \"All-Star\" for the quality of cross-functional collaboration → Driving the strategic decommissioning of a legacy data automation platform (~$700K annual contract) — built the data-driven business case, managed sensitive stakeholder communications, and secured executive buy-in for a phased transition → Internalized platform administration capabilities to eliminate reliance on vendor technical support, saving ~$125K/year in operational costs while maintaining stability through major server upgrades → Mentoring team members and running an internal \"Data Doctor\" enablement program, coaching peers on analytics tools and data best practices. Received unsolicited positive feedback from senior leadership on coaching effectiveness → Using AI tools to automate workflows, accelerate analysis, and create capacity for higher-judgment work — then sharing those practices across the team → Managing SOX compliance, platform security, and quarterly audit cycles across critical Finance systems.
