Manages a caseload of adult sex offenders who are civilly committed as SVPs under Chapter 71.09 RCW or have been unconditionally released from the DSHS Special Commitment Center with DOC supervision remaining. Monitors and reports violations of Court, DOC, DSHS, and sex offender treatment provider imposed conditions. Monitors the adjustment of offenders who are required to participate in sexual deviancy treatment. Refer offenders for polygraph exams. Acts as primary statewide coordinator for program needs as defined by the Courts and relative to Civil Commitment Program participants. Acts as the DOC representative and voting member of the multi-agency Residential Community Transition Team. Conducts field visits (e.g. DSHS Special Commitment Center and Secure Community Transition Facilities, offender homes, and employment) under adverse environmental conditions (e.g. ferry boat rides, building structures, chemicals, poor sanitation, and dangerous occupants and animals) in one or more counties. Conducts field site surveys at proposed locations/businesses to inspect the safety risk to the community or violation potential for supervisee. Monitors offender compliance with imposed Global Position System (GPS) monitoring requirements, and responds to all violations/concerns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Handles stressful situations that involve abuse/hostility, which require the use of de-escalation skills. Assist other officers with duties such as investigations, arrests, and searches. Provide written declaration with guidance of DOC Attorney General when Court ordered to do so. Represent the agency as a member of a multi-disciplinary Regional and Statewide team in transition matters. Collaborate with community stakeholders to assist with the safety of housing individuals in the Community. Write Notices/Specials/Investigation reports to the Court. Provide testimony in Court cases and during deposition proceedings.
