As the Design Integration Director my responsibilities are to lead, direct and manage the design integration for large, high-profile infrastructure projects. Represents the division’s positions, initiatives and interests with a focus on the delivery of superior customer service; ensures staff is sufficiently knowledgeable and dynamic regarding customer service protocols and performance expectations. Manage phase outcomes and comment resolution process for projects managed by the division and provide oversight/input into engineering design. Provide final owner decisions on design review, and owner approvals for design packages as required. Manage and review budgets, schedules, work plans, cost estimates, projections, and contracts. Develop and evaluate design concepts in collaboration with the airport’s Director of Design with regard to planning, development and design options for consideration in support of the overall vision and mission of the Airport. Manage design team and oversee contractor design to ensure integration of DEN stakeholder requirements, DEN design standards and compliance with regulatory requirements as appropriate. Communicates goals, policy options and strategic alternatives to City staff, City officials, boards, commissions, adjacent municipalities, the public and other stakeholders. Provide expert advice on project and design matters to internal and external stakeholders as assigned which may include elected and appointed officials, citizens, and members of the business community. Coach, mentor, develop, and challenge staff. Champion continuous improvement, including devising new strategies and new opportunities. Set performance standards for the division and ensure operations achieve or exceed performance metrics. Implement management initiatives that impact operations; advocate and defend final decisions.
