Review and understand an entity/insurer’s operations, including through its corporate governance structure, ERM framework, discussions with Department staff, and discussions with company personnel• Identify and assess solvency risks facing companies; develop findings and recommendations for improving risk mitigation strategies that can be communicated to the insurer• Examine and verify classification or existence of the assets/liabilities of insurance companies consisting of real estate, cash, bonds, stocks, balances, receivables, unpaid losses and expenses, reserves, capital stock or guaranty funds, and surpluses• Develop and perform independent detail test procedures to address risks as appropriate• Examine insurer records, practices, and activities to appropriately determine insurer compliance with state laws, rules, regulations, and NAIC standards and guidelines• Prepare statements of income and disbursements, assets and liabilities, underwriting and investment exhibits, and necessary supporting schedules such as summaries of the investment accounts and analysis of surplus accounts
