WORK HISTORY
Design Engineer - Operations Support @TechnipFMC
Dunfermline, GB
I am the responsible engineer on shift (day, back, night) to address all non-conformance issues across A&T, Machine shop and the stores warehouse. I work in a fast-paced environment and make business critical decisions under high pressure on a daily basis, often with no support functions. My main objective is to resolve issues and keep production moving to avoid unnecessary stoppages, delays or costs. Some examples of daily tasks are as follows; troubleshooting gate valve and actuator leaks, inspecting sealing surfaces, writing build and test procedures, resolving trapped pressure events, identifying alternative materials, resolving component and weld clashes, discussing rework with suppliers, weld repair procedures, reviewing lifting configurations, full assembly strip down procedures etc. Other responsibilities include reviewing/approving pressure test charts against internal standards, support rework activities, approve management of change procedures, host weekly engineering walks, conduct safety walks and process verifications and hold weekly meetings with engineering platforms to feedback issues and identify improvements.
