ABOUT KYLE GUENTHER
Kyle is a geotechnical engineer with over 18 years of experience on a wide variety of infrastructure, maintenance and capacity projects. His academic and work experience has included a blend of geotechnical and railroad engineering work. His graduate work focused on railroad ballast stiffness behavior, and he studied railway operations and engineering. Kyle started his work career with an internship for CSX Transportation working in the maintenance-of-way department after receiving his bachelor degree. He has worked on several Geotechnical engineering projects involving different types of retaining walls and deep and shallow foundations for highways and railroads. Kyle has also had a large amount of railroad experience involving emergency response for derailments, embankment failures, landslides, rock fall hazards, and tunnel remediation. Tunneling experience includes tunnel mapping, developing rock bolt or shotcrete remediation plans, liner replacement, tunnel notching and design plans for increased clearance.
