About Kyle Gaffney

I began my architectural career with 10 years in the construction field prior to attending the Rhode Island School of Design and receiving a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1991. I was part of a four-person team that constructed custom residences. This team performed every aspect of the construction process from site work, to the making of custom cabinets, doors and windows. This construction experience gave me an understanding that few architects have when dealing with builders in the field. My project experience includes creating intimate residential projects, engaging retail spaces and assisting corporations implement innovative workplace concepts. I am a creative thinker with a tenacious spirit who believes passionately that any project regardless of schedule or budget can incorporate creative ideas. My process is a creative, artistic investigation from the first marks of conceptual design through final detailing. I employ many tools to create work, from sketches to various model techniques that help confirm designs, see other opportunities, and ultimately for my clients to understand the project with more clarity.
