ABOUT KYLE DAILY
As a Senior Scientist in Products Research at the J.M. Smucker Company, I have the pleasure of working with Research and Development and Marketing partners to place meaningful consumer studies that will impact both innovation and renovation initiatives. After a little over 7 years as an individual contributor in both product development and products research for the J.M. Smucker Company, I moved into a manager role with Post Consumer Brands where I led the Products Research team in their Pet Food & Treats division. In addition to placing impactful consumer research, my team was responsible for continuous competitive benchmarking, ensuring product aesthetic consistency across our manufacturing sites, and partnering with our consumer insights, innovation and brand partners to build out innovation pipelines. Due to the relocation of the company outside of Ohio, my time at Post came to an end and I was lucky enough to rejoin Pet R&D at JMS were I am supporting Dog Treats as part of the Products Research team.As an avid Cleveland sports fan (Go Browns, Indians, and Cavs!) I love looking at sports statistics and advanced analytics. This passion has made my job in PR that much more rewarding as data analysis is a large part of my job. Using the statistic analysis software JMP, I analyze raw data collected from consumers to generate meaningful summaries to provide to our product development groups. Often times, the deeper I get to dive into the data, the more rewarding I find the insight to be.I also love that my job allows me to interact with our consumers. Days of research showing consumers preliminary prototypes for new products or testing new product concepts are some of the most enjoyable on the job. As employees in R&D, we tend to formulate our own opinions about what our consumers want, but there is no better way to find the pulse of the consumers than to hear it from them in person.
