Attend national trade shows representing the brand and answering technical questions about the category.Key Accomplishment• Identified and created action plan to resource higher cost components which include pistons, ignition coils, carburetors, and flywheels. Financial impact of cost savings plan is $58.03 per engineNPD Engineer - New Vanguard Horizontals(April 2015 - August 2024)Designed and developed (5) new engines for the commercial utility market (169cc, 203cc, 307cc, 408cc, 408cc EFI)Product Engineer – M12/15H General Purpose(July 2011 – March 2015)Provide engineering support for the M12/15H engine product line produced at BLTE in Chongqing, China. Assigned as the Lead Engineer for the M19 Vanguard transfer from Auburn to Chongqing, China.Key Accomplishments• Supporting the net cost reduction goal for the BLTE plant of for FY13. Key components include a one-piece cylinder head and plastic timing gear that make up a total cost reduction of $1.63 per engine• Identified and qualified multiple cost reduced components to support the fiscal 2012 EPPG $13 million cost reduction goal. Key components include a rewind, flywheel, and connecting rod• Developed mechanical and vacuum system idle down device concepts for the M15H engine• Assisted in initial development of the 208cc general purpose engine, a M12H replacement engine• Aided in the testing and closing of a Chilean Snow Test facility, primarily used for the expedited development of the 208cc snow engine• Adhered to the Briggs and Stratton NPD process to implement product improvements and cost reductions• Conduct standard tests to resolve customer concerns/problems and prepare technical reports of results
