I am currently the Head of Laboratory Services in a laboratory that maintains a stem cell register, matches patients and donors for stem cell transplants, and coordinates UK transplants. Alongside this role, I currently acts as sustainability lead in the Anthony Nolan Laboratories - managing the LEAF accreditation for the laboratory to promote green lab practices.( experience shows excellent leadership qualities, with years of management responsibilities in a laboratory setting. My early roles on the bench, and each step up through subsequent leadership roles, have given me a strong understanding of the management of a laboratory department. I show rich project management skills, evidenced from my many successful projects, including assay development, team restructuring, introduction of new technologies, and validation of processes. A keen eye is needed for the development of a department, and this is some thing I consider a strength of mine - I work hard to look ahead at what is possible for my team and the organisation I work for.In my role as Head of Laboratory Services, I am responsible for- Sample booking for Anthony Nolan, at over 70K samples annually- Haematology and virology screening for Anthony Nolan donors and patients - DNA extraction and quantification for Anthony Nolan donors and patients - Pre-typing processing (extraction/collation/indexing) of all Anthony Nolan commercial contracts
