ABOUT GLADYS KWOK

As a leader in the advancement of multiplayer technologies, I am passionate about creating the best player experience in video games. During my time at Unity working as a Senior Product Manager on Multiplayer Solutions, I led the end-to-end development of Matchmaker, Lobby and Relay, the player connection and networking products from Alpha to GA. These products have enabled tens of millions of players to match with one another, have fun together, and build communities. In recent years, my multiplayer solutions have powered numerous successful game titles, to name a few: Fall Guys, Overcooked, Super Bomberman R, Medal of Honor, Undisputed, Worms, and Headbangers: Rhythm Royale. In 2020, Fall Guys won the Golden Joystick Awards — Best Multiplayer Game. As I understand that building multiplayer games remains a challenge for many game developers, I feel compelled to fill the gap of knowledge through regular speaking engagements. At the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2023, I had the honour to share my expertise on the topic \"How to build better matches to increase player engagement\". Before joining the gaming industry, I was a public relations professional in the Asia-Pacific region. ​​When eSports first gained popularity in Hong Kong, I worked at the forefront of showcasing the entertainment and cultural power of games. I helped major brands, including Google, HP, Logitech and LG, to identify the huge potential of eSports in Hong Kong through market analysis, leading collaborations between these brands with game studios and eSports event organizers.In 2020, I completed my MBA studies in Business Analytics at McGill University, which inspired me to infuse data insights into technological advancement.
