Experience
Product Owner Senior Systems Analyst
Sep 2017 — Present · Seattle, WA, US
Product Owner and Senior Systems Analyst supporting large-scale corporate IT initiatives across healthcare and insurance domains. In this role, I have contributed to a broad range of enterprise programs, including the implementation of mobile device management solutions; enterprise requirements definition for Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint); and modernization of the provider network management system (eVIPs) integrating data from more than ten external vendors. My work has also included enabling a simplified data abstraction model to support service-oriented architecture; leading requirements, design, implementation, and automated testing for the individual line of business; and enhancing IVR system data integrations. I have delivered near real-time web services to meet CMS mandates, incorporating secure authentication and authorization, and supported federally mandated outreach and communications through a custom business rules engine.Additional responsibilities include building and supporting the enterprise data warehouse for claims processing, real-time EFT processing, and developing a new FHIR-based services platform to meet BCBSA compliance requirements. I have also contributed to the build-out of cloud-based workflow management applications. As my role has evolved, my focus has increasingly centered on improving data quality and transparency, simplifying service implementations, and strengthening alignment between technology solutions and business process design.Technical exposure includes C#, Visual Studio, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, XML, MongoDB, Facets, and Azure DevOps. My career at Premera has spanned the transition from mainframe batch processing to modern, real-time service architectures.Lesson learned: Healthcare and health insurance present some of the most complex challenges in technology, but sustained commitment to modernization has the power to fundamentally transform the industry.
