ABOUT KWADWO AMOAKO-BOADU

Kwadwo Amoako-Boadu is an aspiring physician dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and patient care, currently pursuing an M.D. at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is a proud alumnus of the City College of New York, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. During his time at City College, he was an active member of the Honors College and had the honor of being recognized as a 2021 Ernesto Malave Merit Awardee.Kwadwo plays active leadership roles in several pre-med pipeline programs, including the Children\'s Hospital at Montefiore - Community Health Leaders (CHAM-CHL) and Weill Cornell Community Health Leaders (WCCHL). These programs focus on expanding access for Underrepresented in Medicine (URIM) pre-med students, increasing their exposure to academic medicine, and leveraging scholarship to address the social determinants of health. As an alumnus and leader, he has been dedicated to developing innovative solutions for health inequity, advocating for marginalized patients through community health initiatives, and inspiring the next generation of physicians.Kwadwo\'s vision of healthcare practice involves incorporating social determinants of health by advocating for initiatives within hospitals. Where hospitals strive to take on the role of primary investigative sites for large multicenter trials that screen every patient for social determinants of health. In Kwadwo\'\'s vision, patients are not only asked about their access to food, housing, transportation, and employment assistance but are also provided with support to address these challenges.His academic journey has equipped him with a robust foundation in the biological sciences and a deep understanding of psychological principles, both of which he aims to integrate into his future medical practice.
